WHO ARE WE AND WHAT DO WE DO?
FISTS was formed in 1987 here in England by Mr. E. (George) Longden, G3ZQS (sk)
We actively encourage the use of Morse code within the amateur radio community since the abolition of the 12wpm code pass requirement for access to the HF amateur radio spectrum.
We warmly welcome beginners of cw to our ranks with on air slow morse (QRS) transmissions.
Indeed, many of our members still learn beginners on air or at their homes!
Our motto's are;
"ACCURACY TRANSCENDS SPEED"
"COURTESY AT ALL TIMES"
Since our society was formed it has grown hugely and now has active members in;
MAINLAND EUROPE
THE UNITED STATES
JAPAN
CHINA
AUSTRALIA
NEW ZEALAND.
More information can be found on our main web site, visit;
Here you'll find more information on the society, browse the site, find out what we're all about, if you're a experienced cw operator or a beginner, we'll be pleased to welcome you aboard.
